|UnitedAuto Announces Executive Appointment; Crislyn A. Penske Named eBusiness Director|
|DETROIT, MI, MAY 25, 2000 - UnitedAuto Group, Inc. (NYSE: UAG), a leading publicly traded automotive retailer, today announced a new executive appointment.
Crislyn A. Penske has joined UnitedAuto as eBusiness Director. Ms. Penske will report to UnitedAuto President Sam DiFeo, and will focus on creating and implementing a strategy for UnitedAuto's online business to serve its customers coming through OEM websites, dealer websites, and third party independent sites. The creation of this position and Ms. Penske's appointment solidifies UnitedAuto's commitment to providing an automotive e-commerce solution to meet its customers' needs and the customer service needs of the OEM's.
Ms. Penske comes to UnitedAuto from Penske Capital Partners, which has a significant stake in UnitedAuto. Ms. Penske's experience also includes four years with Coopers & Lybrand, L.L.P. in various capacities. She is a Certified Public Accountant and holds a Masters of Business Administration in Finance and Management from Columbia Business School and a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration from Lehigh University.
UnitedAuto, which has pursued a strategy based on internal growth from its existing dealerships, as well as from strategic acquisitions, operates 111 franchises in 17 states, Puerto Rico and Brazil. UnitedAuto dealerships sell new and used vehicles, and market a complete line of after-market automotive products and services.
