|UnitedAuto Appoints Daniel B. Chasins Executive Vice President - Marketing|
|DETROIT, MI, May 5, 2003 – UnitedAuto Group, Inc. (NYSE: UAG), a FORTUNE 500 automotive specialty retailer, today announced the appointment of Daniel B. Chasins as Executive Vice President – Marketing.
In this newly created position, Mr. Chasins will have oversight of all UAG marketing and advertising activities; further develop and implement common approaches to marketing planning, metrics and reporting; share best practices in all areas of promotion, communication and advertising; and analyze market and industry trends to identify opportunities for growth and savings. Mr. Chasins will report to Chairman Roger Penske and President Sam DiFeo, Jr.
Prior to joining UnitedAuto, Mr. Chasins held positions with the Saab organization, most recently as executive director, new products for Saab Automobile AB in Trollhättan, Sweden. Previous to this assignment, Mr. Chasins was the president and chief operating officer of Saab Cars USA, Inc. in Norcross, Georgia. He completed his master’s of business administration at Harvard Graduate School and has a B.A. in economics from Swarthmore College.
